DECLARATION OF SAHAM AMANAH SABAH 1ST INTERIM INCOME DISTRIBUTION FOR THE YEAR 2019

I am pleased to inform that, Saham Amanah Sabah (SAS) has achieved a gross income of RM36,017,587 as at 6th September 2019. With this positive achievement, I am pleased to declare SAS’s 1st Interim Income Distribution for 2019 of 2.40% or 2.40 sen (net) per unit representing an income yield of 7.41% on investment based on the Net Asset Value (NAV) per unit of RM0.3240 as at 2nd January 2019 which involves a total payment of RM29,552,976 based on 1,231,374,000 units held as at 6th September 2019.
The income is derived from the following sources: –
- SAS’s investment in the stock market – 77.60%;
- Dividend income – 04%;and
- Money market – 8.36%;
This positive performance was achieved due to the prudent financial management and adopting the right investment strategies. Despite the challenging investment environment with moderate growth as well as the subdued global and domestic markets performances, we are pleased to continue to provide returns to SAS unit holders.
The income distribution will be paid to 50,264 investors comprising of 42,746 (85.04%) individual investors, 7,317 (14.56%) investors under the Hardcore Poor Scheme, 151 (0.30%) investors with bank loans and 50 (0.10%) corporate investors.
Since its inception twenty fifth (25) years, inclusive of this 1st Interim Income Distribution, SAS has declared 22 distributions involving a total payment of RM643,231,647 or 90.57 cents a unit (net) or 90.57% inclusive a distribution in the form of units reinvested at the rate of 0.40 cents per unit (0.40 %).
Going forward, Saham Sabah Berhad as the Manager of the SAS Fund Scheme, will continue to generate reasonable returns consistent with its investment objective.
Finally, I would like to invite potential and existing investors especially the State Government Agencies who have the means to diversify their investment to come forward and invest or increase their investment in SAS as the Fund still has units available for sale.
